शहर में डूबा हूँ , शहर में बहता हूँ

Shahar mein dooba hoon, Shahar mein bahta hoon

 एक छोटे शहर से हूँ  जो हिमालय की तलहटी में शिवालिक के पहाड़ों में बसा  हुआ है । वैसे वो शायद छोटा शहर तब था जब मैं भी छोटा था । जब नौ वर्ष की आयु में मैं वहाँ आया, तब वहाँ की आबादी कुछ ४०-४५ हज़ार ही थी। अब आबादी एक लाख से ऊपर है । मैं भी तीस का आँकड़ा पार कर गया हूँ ।
मैं जहाँ बड़ा हुआ, वहाँ पर पहाड़ और जंगल नदी के साफ़ पानी में तैरते नज़र आते थे, चाहे सूरज से दहकता दिन हो या चाँदनी से महकती रातें ।  मैं इन सब का साथ छोड़ कर इससे ज़्यादा हरियाली की खोज में निकल पड़ा और इससे ज़्यादा सूखे बियाबानों में पहुँच गया ।

 

इस ब्लॉग के ज़रिए अपनी कुछ रुचियों को उजागर करना चाहता हूँ - लिखना, पढ़ना और कहानियाँ सुनाना ।

From a small town on the foothills of Himalaya’s Shivalik range. Though it was a small town when I moved there at the age of 9 and its population was some 40-45 thousand. Now that I have crossed 30s, my town has gone past 1 lakh too. 

The place I grew up in, you could see the reflection of mountains and forests floating in clear river waters, whether it was a sunny day or a starry moonlit night. That I moved away in search for greener pastures is quite ironical. Ended up in drier, more arid and less greener areas. Populating this blog to give vent to some interests - reading, writing and telling stories.
